The Center for Advising and Counseling enrolls students who have earned 30-plus hours of college credit and who have not yet met the admission requirements for one of the University’s degree-granting senior colleges.  UCAC also offers an enrollment option and advising assistance for students working to meet the admission requirements to the allied health and nursing programs at the LSU Health Sciences Centers in New Orleans and Shreveport.

    BATON ROUGE – Ashley Granger, academic counselor for LSU University College’s Center for Freshman Year, or UCFY, has been selected as the 2013 LSU Advisor of the Year. This award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated qualities associated with outstanding academic advising of students.

    BATON ROUGE – LSU University College presented its annual “Celebration of Excellence” Spring Awards Reception on Wednesday, March 20, at The Club at LSU Union Square. University College awarded $49,250 through 54 scholarships, $9,500 through nine LSU faculty teaching awards and one LSU Advisor of the Year Award.

    University College celebrates 80 years of service and impact to the LSU community
    For the past 80 years, students have come to know LSU's University College under many names: Lower Division, General College, Freshman College, Junior Division and now University College. No matter the name, its mission is the same: to serve as the entry point for students at the university by providing academic advising and support services that assist first-year and some continuing students in defining their educational goals, pursing admission to a senior college and ultimately earning a degree.

    BATON ROUGE – LSU University College will host 12 interactive True Colors workshops Feb. 19-21 and March 19-21 at 150 Allen Hall, which is located next to Middleton Library in the LSU Quad.
