2014-2015 Special General Election
Call for Nominations

 

The Staff Senate Executive Committee is holding a Call for Nominations for a special general election to fill vacant seats.  Those elected will fill the vacant seats and fulfill remaining terms, and can then run for a full term.

 

The following seats are available:

 

Category EEO 1 – Executive/Administrative/Managerial - 1 seat Term: January 21, 2015 through June 30, 2017

 

Category EEO 4 – Clerical/Secretarial – 1 seat Term: January 21, 2015 through June 30, 2016

 

Category EEO 5 – Technical/Paraprofessional– 2 seats Term: January 21, 2015 through June 30, 2016 Term: January 21, 2015 through June 30, 2017

 

Category EEO 7 – Service/Maintenance – 1 seat Term: January 21, 2015 through June 30, 2016

 

Staff members who have completed at least one year of service prior to this election, are employed at least 75% effort at Louisiana State University, and are interested in being elected to the Staff Senate should file as a candidate. 

 

You may also nominate a fellow staff member.

The Staff Senate Executive Committee and Human Resource Management will verify and certify eligibility.

 

Process/Timeline for Special Elections:

 

December 12 - Deadline for receipt of nomination forms

 

December 19 - Deadline for nominees to withdraw from election

 

January 6 - Ballots distributed to staff

 

January 13 - Deadline for receipt of completed ballots

 

January 14 - The Executive Committee will tabulate the votes and notify the nominees. In cases where there are only as many candidates in a category as vacancies, the candidates will be declared elected without opposition.  

 

January 21 - Newly elected Senators will be invited to attend the January 21, 2015 Staff Senate meeting to begin their term.
