Did you know that more than 150 staff members are currently pursuing course work to complete an undergraduate or graduate degree from LSU? The Annual Staff Senate Clovers & Quarters drive will be collecting donations for the first two weeks of March to help support the Staff Senate Fee Support Scholarship.

Each year, the Staff Senate provides staff members with a scholarship to help defray the cost of non-exempt fees associated with attending LSU through our annual Clovers & Quarters Drive. Recipients are selected by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions & Student Aid based on criteria including academic accomplishment and personal need for financial assistance.  

Past recipients include individuals from the Louisiana Math & Science Institute, Law Enforcement Online, Biological Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine. These staff members work tirelessly to support the mission of LSU while simultaneously choosing to improve their own knowledge, skills, and abilities through academic scholarship and research.  

The next recipient could potentially be a staff member from your area or department. There are a variety of ways you can help our efforts:

1. Faculty and Staff can make a personal donation through payroll deduction using the LSU FOUNDATION PAYROLL DEDUCTION FORM, either as a single annual contribution or a continuing contribution throughout the year specifying the project name & number (Staff Senate Fee Support Scholarship – 102963).  

2. Deans, Directors, and Department Heads can make a contribution on behalf of their unit from appropriate private/development-related discretionary LSU Foundation fund account(s).

3. Anyone can make a one-time donation by writing a check payable to the LSU Foundation and memo the project name and number (Staff Senate Fee Support Scholarship – 102963).

4. Drop your contribution in a Clovers and Quarters collection container from March 1 – March 15. Containers will be located in the office of your local LSU Staff Senator, a list of whom can be found HERE. 

Your assistance by considering a donation and encouraging others to do so is greatly appreciated and sends a strong signal to everyone on campus that developing our own staff is a priority worth supporting.
