The Mass Comm Residential College (MCRC), located in South Hall in the Residential College Complex, is specifically designed to offer an educational and social community for the next generation of journalism, public relations, advertising, and political communication professionals. Students engage in activities that strengthen both their educational and professional careers including on-site classes, study sessions as well as special access to guest speakers. In addition, students have priority scheduling for mass communication classes.
The special environment that the MCRC offers provides a component of student life that interfaces learning both inside and outside the classroom and improves the academic atmosphere of LSU. An important part of the mission of the MCRC is to help acclimate students to the diversity of the mass communication field and empower them for successful careers.
The program is open to first-year students and undergraduate international exchange students who indicate mass communication as their major.
