The Louisiana Scholastic Press Association (LSPA) reaches out to high schools through an annual conference in the fall of the school year, providing for an exchange of ideas, workshops, and team building which lasts through the year. In addition, LSPA sponsors a yearbook, newspaper, and broadcast competition in which high schools vie for trophies and recognition – the highest being that of All-Louisiana. LSPA also provides high school advisors with the latest information from the Student Press Law Center, Journalism Education Association, and The Poynter Institute.
LSPA is housed at the Manship School of Mass Communication at Louisiana State University. Its membership is open to any Louisiana High School teacher who acts as an advisor to a high school newspaper, yearbook, television, radio, or web entity.
