Employee Recognition Program
Dedicated and loyal employees make LSU’s mission possible. This annual event, which is usually held during the first week in May, recognizes and honors LSU employees who have reached 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 or more years of service (in increments of 5 years). The program is hosted by the Chancellor who presents a service award to all honored employees in attendance. The program is followed by a light dessert reception and group pictures of the honorees. The awards (which are subject to change according to availability) for each category of recognized years are described below:
• 25 years – 10K gold lapel pin with the LSU logo
• 30 years – Two tone gold and silver LSU watch donated by the LSU Alumni Association
• 35 years – Rosewood engraved pen and pencil set
• 40 years – Sterling silver engraved charm bracelets for females and gold & sterling silver engraved money clips for men
• 45 years or more – Individually determined in relation to the recipient
Honorees are identified on a fiscal year basis (i.e., individuals who have reached the appropriate years of service during the period between July and June will be recognized at the program). Honorees as well as their supervisors will receive notification of the program time and date and are encouraged to make plans to attend this special event.

Service Awards
LSU values the importance of commitment to its community. This program recognizes LSU employees who have reached 10, 15, and 20 years of service through the presentation of a certificate embodied in a purple diploma cover bearing the Louisiana logo and a gold engraving that reads ‘Louisiana State University’. Certificates are processed on a quarterly basis as listed below.
• January, February, March (distributed February)
• April, May, June (distributed May)
• July, August, September (distributed August)
• October, November, December (distributed November)
Once certificates are processed and placed in the covers, they are picked up by the individual departments who distribute them according to their internal policies. Once an employee reaches 25 years of service, they will no longer receive a certificate; instead they will be honored during the Annual Employee Recognition Program.
