Lead…Emerge is LSU’s leadership development program for new supervisors, candidates for promotion to a supervisory position, and current supervisors desiring professional and personal development. The program focuses on building and enhancing leadership skills which support the University’s strategic objectives (Flagship Agenda). Using self-awareness as a catalyst for professional improvement, the program incorporates a combination of individual and group experiential exercises to further build participants’ competencies.
Business Manager & HR Contact Certificate Programs
The Business Manager and Human Resource Certificate Programs offer LSU Employees an opportunity to acquire core competencies to perform their job at the highest level. Employees can choose to pursue the Business Manager Certificate, the HR Contact Certificate, or both.
To become certified, employees must complete the core courses in their selected program and select a minimum of four elective courses in specific areas of concentration tailored to their current duties or as part of their own professional development aspirations.
There are many on-campus development opportunities available that are no cost to LSU employees. A list of training courses is available through the employees's myLSU account.
CPTP: Comprehensive Public Training Program
The Comprehensive Public Training Program is the state-funded training program for state employees. Through the CPTP, LSU is offered management development and supervisory training, and general application classes on topics such as computer software and writing skills. The primary instructors for the program are staff of the Public Management Program at LSU and Civil Service staff who present courses on Civil Service rules, Performance Planning and Review, Documenting for Performance & Discipline, and specialized training for Human Resource professionals.
