Graduate Programs in Mathematics Education

 

The School of Education offers the following graduate programs with a specialization in 

Math Education:

 

 

Master of Education
(M.Ed.)
The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Math Education is designed to advance the knowledge base of certified teachers. This program requires 36 hours of credit at the graduate level. Students must pass a comprehensive final exam consisting of a series of written questions pertaining to this specialization.Click here for more information about the M.Ed. program
Certificate of Education Specialist
(Ed.S.)
The Certificate of Education Specialist (Ed.S.) program with a specialization in Math Education is intended primarily for teachers. This program provides in-depth opportunities for further professional growth and specialization for persons who have completed the master’s degree. A minimum of 60 hours of graduate credit—which may include the master’s degree—is required.Click here for more information about the Ed.S. program
Doctor of Philosophy
(Ph.D.)
The Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Math Education prepares scholars and leaders in the field. The Ph.D. is a research degree; thus students are expected to engage in and present research while completing the degree.
