Biography

Patti Exner 's responsibilities as associate dean include administrative oversight of the Office of Student Services, the Office of Field Experiences, and the Office of Assessment and Accountability.  In addition, she coordinates the national accreditation of all programs at LSU that prepare P-12 educational professionals.  Prior to becoming associate dean, she served in various other positions in the college, including coordinator of LSU's student teaching program and university supervisor of student teachers and alternate certification interns.  Her 30+ years in P-16+ education include several years as a teacher of middle and high school English and social studies in East Baton Rouge Parish public schools and as a high school English teacher at the LSU Laboratory School.  Patti has been actively involved in various local, state, and national organizations and education reform movements, the latter including those connected to Louisiana's Blue Ribbon Commission on Teacher Quality. Her research interests include teacher education reform and value-added teacher education program assessment.
