Biography

Jennifer Curry is an assistant professor of counselor education at Louisiana State University where she is the coordinator of the school counseling program. Her education background includes a Bachelors of Science degree from Western Kentucky University, a Masters of Education in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University, and a doctorate in counselor education from University of Central Florida. Her work experience includes being an investigator for the Louisville Police Department’s Crimes Against Children unit where she investigated sexual assault to children eleven and under, and she has served as a professional school counselor in elementary, middle, and high school. Her research interests include holistic wellness and school counselor development particularly in the areas of advocacy, leadership and social justice. She has presented her work at over 50 national, and 20 International conferences, has published 30 articles in peer-reviewed, refereed national and international counseling journals and has served as guest editor of American School Counselor Association’s Professional School Counseling journal. Currently she serves as the immediate past-president of the national Association for Spiritual, Ethical and Religious Values in Counseling (ASERVIC) and the post-secondary vice president of the Louisiana School Counselor Association.
