May 2010. National Diversity Advisory Board Inaugural Meeting, Office of Academic Affairs Conference Room. EDCO hosted the inaugural meeting of the LSU National Diversity Advisory Board. The NDAB will be advising and facilitating diversity and community outreach opportunities, including giving campaigns and special initiatives, corporate, grant, and foundation development, programs and student affairs, faculty and curriculum development, professorships, and community impact and abroad. Sustainability will also be an overarching objective for the Board.

April 2010. "Kiss the Pig" Fundraiser, LSU Campus, Baton Rouge, LA. Vice Provost Albert, along with Chancellor Martin, Baseball Coach Paul Maneri, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Life Darrell Ray, and student leaders and athletes, participated in a fundraiser to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Baton Rouge. As part of the fundraiser, the participants with the highest totals had to kiss a pig that was provided through the LSU AgCenter. April 2010. Graduate Diversity Preview Day, LSU Student Union. EDCO and the LSU Graduate School hosted students from local and regional historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) for LSU's 2nd Diversity Preview. The Diversity Preview marks a newly created event and first major collaboration between EDCO and the Graduate School. The Preview included students from Dillard University, Grambling State University, Jackson State University, Southern University, and Xavier University of Louisiana. The Preview ended with an Graduate School Open House hosted by the Black Graduate and Professional Student Association.

Spring 2010. Black Male Leadership Fellows Program is Unveiled. The Office of Equity, Diversity & Community Outreach and the Office of Multicultural Affairs piloted LSU's first Black male retention and leadership program. The semester included a series of workshops and activities, including a leadership conference, community service project, brother-to-brother retreat, and lunch with nationally renowned scholar, Dr. Michael Cuyjet. The participants are freshman and sophomore males were nominated by faculty and staff. The next round of openings will take place Spring 2011. Left Top Photo: BMLI participants official group photo.
