2012 BLACK SCHOLARS AWARDS PROGRAM
Call for Nominations
The Black Scholars Awards Program, to be held this year on Sunday, March 25th, is an annual event that recognizes Black undergraduate and graduate scholars who have achieved academic excellence at LSU. The 2011 program honored over 500 students with grade point averages ranging from 3.0 to 4.0. From this elite group, three students are selected to receive special awards that embody their unique individual qualities. The special awards are as follows:
Charles Harrington Graduate Student Award
Presented to an outstanding graduate student who has made contributions to his/her field or to LSU.
Huel D. Perkins Leadership Award
Presented to an undergraduate student with outstanding contributions
to the campus and the local community.
A.P. Tureaud Milestone Award
Presented to a student with any significant first-time achievement.
The Black Faculty Staff Caucus is soliciting applications for these three awards, and invites applicants to complete the application attached HERE.
The deadline for submission is Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 4pm. Completed applications (application form, résumé, and letter of recommendation) and any supporting documentation (additional letters of reference, publications, etc.) should be forwarded to.
