Campus Partnerships

Pan-Hellenic Council – The LSU Child Care Center is currently the Philanthropic project of the Panhellenic Council. Sorority volunteers help out with major events and classroom activities throughout the  school year.

 

LSU Speech and Hearing - Speech and Hearing Clinic students and staff provide screenings for children at the LSU Child Care Center. The Speech students also have the opportunity to present their research to the parents and staff of the LSU Child Care Center.

 

Kinesiology Department - Graduate students studying gross motor development in young children have used the Center for field observations. The Louisiana Department of Education has used studies produced from the student’s research.

 

Psychology Department – Psychology graduate students study how children develop cognitively and social emotionally through play and other methods.

 

Department of Architecture and Engineering - Students from these departments have used the Center as a site for study to complete projects on playground development and assessment.

 

School of Human Ecology - Students complete observations in infant and toddler development for early childhood courses.  Food and Nutrition students complete class assignments on meal preparation and nutrition for young children.
